(A.K.A. Fred MacKenzie-Williams)
3rd Year - ARMED
Brief
The objective of this project was to, as a group, create a 1-minute and a half 2D animated short film which we had to pitch, produce, and showcase in full production to a theatre of industry professionals. Alongside the final film, we had to present our production pipeline, showing the progress and development we went through, as well as how things changed through feedback and critiques from our peers and others that we took on board to improve the final film. In addition to this, we contacted composers to try and collaborate so that we could have a personalised soundtrack to match our short film (failing to find one, we planned to use a publicly available soundtrack with no copyright restrictions) and designed posters for all formats, including digital thumbnails and full A0 print posters.

2nd Year - Graveyard Shift
Brief
For this module we split ourselves into small groups around the size of our pitch groups and from concept to finished piece, we had to develop a short animated movie that is no longer than 75 seconds long. the animation needed to be as close to a finished and professional quality with a solid narrative. every part of the production pipeline and role needed to be filled by at least one member of the group, roles like director, producer, concept artist, animator, compositor, etc. throughout the production of the short film, everything should be complicated into an art bible that will be delivered and presented along with the short film to show the production material, challenges and solutions the group went through.

2nd Year -
ATE
Brief
For this module we, as a whole class, needed to produce a finished music video using an animation technique called rotoscoping which is a technique that requires the heavy use of a live reference to create animation with realistic movement. To reach that point we would split into smaller groups to create a pitch for what the music video would be, the themes, the style and the music, and as a class we would vote on what pitch we would like the most and move forward with the project as a class and the creator of the winning pitch acting as the leading roles for the production of the animation.

2nd Year - Creature Performance
Brief
To complete this module, the brief asks for me to provide by the stated deadline that I would submit a traditional/frame by frame creature animation that is between 11 and 20 seconds long. The creature can be real or imagined but must be based on a real animal/s. Accompanying the animation must be a presentation/portfolio that covers the the full research and development done in order to produce the animation which must include;
A moodboard of the ideas you had for the outcome at the beginning of the module, a written analysis on animation you were inspired by for what you would want your final outcome want to be like, Initial sketches and anatomy studies of the animal/s you’re ar baking your creature on, development drawings leading towards your final design which includes a full stunted turnaround and style and pose reference, Animation testing, Live references to refer to when developing the animation, a storyboard for what I planned for the animation, evidence of the development process from the rough animatic keyframes to the clean up and lastly, a video of the final animation in full with linking to an online version of and and portfolio.
Anything you did extra in the development of the final animation like backgrounds, edits and failures can also be shown in the presentation/portfolio but aren’t required.
The aim of this module is that you have an understanding and can perform in the roles required for the traditional/frame by frame animation production pipeline.

2nd Year - Character Performance
Brief
The brief of this module stated that by the end of it, I must have an at least 11 second animation of a rigged/cutout character performing from a piece of audio that I either found or created. This would also be supplemented with a portfolio that would run through the whole production from beginning to the end. from my ability to develop an idea into a usable concept for rigged animation, to knowledge on how to build and develop a rig to finally show my skill at producing a high quality piece of animation using rigged/cutout characters. This would all be done to show my understanding of the production pipeline for rigged/cutout animation and my abilities at working at every stage of said pipeline.
